I was born and raised in East Providence, Rhode Island where I was involved in dance and gymnastics. After graduating high school, I accepted a scholarship to Springfield College in Massachusetts where I competed on the gymnastics team. after an injury put a halt to my gymnastic career, I joined a dance company in the city of Springfield since I could not sit still. I am a kinethestic learner and know that most children learn best through movement thereby engaging brain and body simultaneously.
This is my 8th year teaching Physical Education at Imagine Indigo Ranch. Prior to teaching here in Colorado, I have taught in Minnesota, New Mexico, New York, and Texas. I have had the opportunity to teach in many different settings with many diverse populations enriching my learning experience. My focus in class is on improving fitness and teaching kids to live a healthy lifestyle.
The first picture I can remember drawing when I was a kiddo was a giraffe, in silver crayon, on a table. Little did I know I would grow up and start my own business refinishing and painting furniture as well as share my love for drawing with my own students.
I graduated with a bachelors degree in fine arts from Arizona State University. Shortly after graduation I moved to Colorado, became a mom and decided to stay at home and focus all of my attention on raising my two beautiful children.
After some life changes, I went back to school for my Masters degree in art education.
My adventure in full time teaching began at ICA in 2013. This is truly a great learning environment, I feel blessed every day for the opportunity to be the sole art teacher here.
Hallo! Mein Name ist Elisabeth Kermanshahi und ich unterrichte Deutsch an der Imagine Classical Academy.
I am a German national and I am absolutely thrilled about the opportunity to teach my native language to the students of this wonderful school. I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University Koblenz, Germany and was a passionate elementary school teacher in Lahnstein, Germany for two years.
I moved to Colorado Springs in September 2014 with my husband who serves in the Air Force. I miss Germany but enjoy exploring beautiful Colorado, especially hiking in the mountains.
I am very much looking forward to introducing my students to the German language and culture.
Welcome to the Wonderful World of Music! I first taught in Southern California and was very proud of the program I built at Casimir Middle School in Torrance. My wife Madeleine and our triplets Stephanie, Kristen and Scott left for Colorado Springs and fell in love with this beautiful place. I continued to work doing all things musical outside of a school setting by recording an album and performing with a variety of musical acts, yet it took a while to find a home as much as the one I had left behind, and then did so when I was hired here at Imagine in 2012. I love there is an actual curriculum for Music for every grade level, we have built a huge after school program that includes Guitar, Choir and Band for Elementary students, and the study of Guitar is now a weekly class for everyone in the middle school. While programs involving music may be struggling elsewhere, the Music is booming here at Imagine! If you have any questions or comments, do not hesitate to be in touch!
