Middle School Grades 6-8
Middle School Teachers
This is my 5th year at Imagine Classical Academy. This year I am teaching 6th-8th grade Latin and drama. I’m from New York City origionally, but I have lived in Colorado Springs for the last 12 years. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy reading, gaming, crafting, and playing with my chinchilla Strangeling.
This is my seventh year at Imagine. I was born and raised on a farm in South Dakota, but have come to love the small town family feel of Colorado Springs. I love teaching Math but have also taught English, Social Studies, and Science. In my extra time I hang out with my kids and craft.
I am so excited to be entering my third year at Imagine Classical Academy! This is my 18th year teaching English, and I still love it just as much today as the day I started.
I was raised all over the world as the daughter of an Air Force officer, during which time I was an All-American swimmer and student.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education from the University of Central Florida, and I have completed graduate work in Shakespearean Studies from Oxford University’s Exeter College, and I am completing a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction and Common Core Implementation from Concordia University.
I teach middle school History at Imagine Classical Academy. I was raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. I served for four years in the United States Marine Corps and graduated from Liberty University. I hold a Colorado teaching license and have a Master’s degree in Education from The University of Colorado Colorado Springs. I enjoy hiking, biking, and spending time with my wife.
Work experience: 20 Years experience as Chemistry, Chemical and Mechanical Engineering, Quality Manager
Education experience: 5 years middle school science and math
Why I choose to teach in middle school: I enjoy the energy and the emerging independence and confidence of middle school students. They jump into the challenging activities with a curiosity and zeal that allows me to share my passion for learning and science. I love connecting with all students, providing them the comfort and space to grow into their own unique, authentic young adults selves.
I have been teaching since 2007, and I have been at ICA since 2015. I really enjoy the variety and challenge of teaching. My free time is spent with my two children. We enjoy being active, playing games, reading, and watching princess movies.
